I Can't Sleep. Haha. Maroon 5 experience

I just remembered something that I wanted to write about. Haha.

I listened to all the Maroon 5 albums today. They were so good. They actually made me remember the time I went to a Maroon 5 concert. It was May 23, 2011, and they played at SMX Convention Center. That day was amazing.

Anyway, to the beginning. My ticket to Maroon 5.

It was April when I found out my friends Abby, Ana and Redge were watching Maroon 5. I also found out that they were getting Gold-B tickets. I was envious, since Maroon 5 were one of those bands I wanted to watch, other than John Mayer, Paul McCartney, Slash, Guns N' Roses (new), etc. etc. I wanted to go, but those tickets were 5,800 pesos, around 135 Canadian $$ to you, future Canadian readers/Future Canadian Mitch/Rafael/Enrique/That Awesome Filipino Guy. Haha. I didn't have that kind of money at all, and my mom wasn't willing at all to give me those tickets. So I was sad. I was over it, but fate intervened. LOL, that sounds awesome.

I found out through the internet that there was this sale on Maroon 5 tickets between May 7 and May 8, half-price on Silver and Gold-B. So I pleaded with my mom to get those half-price tix. Luckily for me, she agreed, and we went to TicketWorld or whatever it was that sold those tickets.

On May 7, we went to Glorietta 5 to buy tickets. We got to the outlet that sold tickets, inquired about them, almost bought, but then, disappointment.

The woman behind the counter said that the sale had been cancelled. They said they didn't know why. I was like WTH, and was pissed for most of the day, if memory serves me right.

The next day, I went to my guitar lessons at RJ, at 5-6. After that, I told my mom that we should probably check out the ticket-selling place, 'cause maybe the sale had returned. And my decision was, amazingly, gonna get me my tickets. We went to the outlet, also conveniently situated in Glorietta 5, inside National Bookstore. We asked the ticket lady, and she said the sale had returned. I was shocked, and so happy, because I made the decision to ask. My mom bought the ticket, and we went home. It was awesome.

Anyway, fast forward another 15 days.

I decided to go with my friend Ana to MOA, because she knew the way. But my dad said he actually could bring us there. Well, Ana hitched, and we got to MOA at 12. There was no one else there, so we decided to eat lunch. Ana decided to buy a belt, but she found that she hadn't bought her wallet. That sucked a lot, since her ticket was there too. So she called, and got her wallet hours later from Innah after the movie, which I will discuss later. I paid for the belt, and her lunch. She paid me back when she got her wallet.

We picked to eat lunch at Tokyo Tokyo, and my bro G said he was going to MOA to hang out with us. He got there as we were eating, and bought food too. Our friend Innah also went there, probably to hang out with G or something. There was no signal in that place, and I couldn't text anybody.

We left early, since they had decided that we would watch Pirates of the Caribbean 4 before going to SMX. There we met Abby and Redge, along with their other friends who were gonna watch Maroon 5 with us, Janah and Joyce. I realized, I was the only dude with them WTH. Haha. But nevermind, I said. Maroon 5 is awesome.

We watched Pirates 4, and it was a pretty awesome movie. We then left the cinema when the movie ended, like 3 or something, to go line up for Maroon 5. I was thinking, the concert's at 8:30, and we're lining up at 4? This is gonna be a long wait. I gave my ticket to Abby, since I knew that I had a tendency of losing things, and she could keep it in her bag, which was smaller and had more pockets than mine.

We went to SMX, and there was already a short line, 4 hours before the concert started. Dedicated fans, I see. We lined up at 4, and Abby, Janah and Joyce went to eat really late lunch. We waited for about 30 minutes, and to our horror, the line started moving. The others weren't back yet. We were so close to the front, and we were scared that they wouldn't be back on time. Worse yet, I gave my ticket to Abby, and I would be stuck there, with no ticket. I wouldn't be able to get in. Pressure was on.

And the most amazing thing happened. Just as Redge was being let in, she was let out again. They said that only Gold-A people would be let in. We breathed a sigh of relief, and waited for them. It was 5, and we thought, why did they take so long to eat lunch? We tried calling and texting them, but they just wouldn't reply at all. We were pissed. It was 5:30, still not there. 5:45, not there. By 6, we were pissed. Then, Ana got a text from Innah. She was on her way home, after hanging out with Abby and co. at Tokyo Tokyo. Wow. Haha. There was no signal there, so they couldn't receive any messages or calls. So I decided to run it to Tokyo Tokyo. I ran pretty fast, and got there by 6:10. They were there, thankfully, and we ran back to SMX. I was hoping they hadn't reopened the doors yet.

Fortunately, when we got there, the doors weren't yet opened. They got there, and we saw a sign that professional cameras were not allowed. Abby was scared, since she was bringing an SLR, a camera that looked pretty professional. They decided to hide it in my bag, under jackets and stuff. The doors opened at 6:30, or something like that, and we got in. Luckily, the camera got in. We got in by 6:45. We got something to eat, and Abby and co. bought albums and posters. It was 7, and I had nothing to do. So I chatted up my seatmate Redge, for like an hour, until I was out of topics. Haha. We waited another 45 minutes tho, for Maroon 5 to start. They started at what I think was 9, and I was really relieved they had come already, 'cause boredom was killing me.

They started with Misery and If I Ever See Your Face Again, which was cool, then Harder to Breathe, which was even awesomer, since our band had played that song live before. They then continued with Give A Little More and The Sun (you must be thinking I'm awesome, since I remembered the full setlist. Yes, that's true. I am awesome. Joke. Haha. I searched it up.) The Sun was a cool song, since it had a long solo by both James Valentine and Adam Levine, who surprised me with his soloin skills. Next was Won't Go Home Without You, then Never Gonna Leave This Bed. After that, they did a cover of If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys, which was one of the things I wanted to hear in this concert.

After that, they played She Will Be Loved, which had this long singalong part, which amazed me. Cool bands can do that with their fans? I'm so gonna do that with my future band. Then after that was Wake Up Call, which was the second Maroon 5 song I heard. Not the first (that was Makes Me Wonder.), but the first one which music video I watched on YouTube (is my gramming wright?). It was the best video ever, and I liked watching it live. After that was Shiver, which for me was one of my favorites off their Songs About Jane album. Good solo again. Then Stutter, then This Love. That was cool too. Then Sweetest Goodbye, another awesome song from their first album with a cool solo. They "ended" after that, but I knew they couldn't leave. What the hell, they hadn't played Sunday Morning yet. But my seatmates were all screaming "more! more!" and I did that too, maybe out of Mass Hysteria, but IDK. LOL.

They, predictably, came back, and played Hands All Over, the title track of their newest album. After that was Makes Me Wonder, which was cool. Then, as I expected, they ended with Sunday Morning. Adam introduced them all, and said it was the drummer's birthday that day. They ended amazingly, and there were many cheers.

We got off our seats (we stood on them for the entirety of the concert) and sat there for 20 minutes. My dad then went to MOA, and fetched me, Ana, and Abby, who would be fetched at Ana's. It was, I think, 10:45.

There ended that awesome concert.

Sorry it ended up being so long. That day was just so full of things.

And additional memory. There were ticket scalpers there. As we were looking for Abby, Joyce and Janah, there was this dude who asked me if I was going to Maroon 5. I said yes. He asked how many. I said 6. And he asked what section. I said Gold-B. And he said he could sell it to us at a cheap price. I, of course said we already had tickets, but that was when I saw my first ticket scalper. Hahaha.

12:42 AM, June 14, 2011. :) Took me an hour to finish this.
